We did try to get extra payments but the then minister Ms Eagle wrote back terse get a job, stop moaning all the time or use your DLA.
I think they slip us an extra tenner as a christmas bonus - don't spend it all at once!
How old have you got to be before eligable for winter fuel allowance.Hubby is 60 in June and he was wondering if he qualified.
Born on or before 1951......but rules will be changing as the age of retirement change, but for now if your born in 1951 you will get the winter fuel allowance.. so the age is 60
Do we have to claim or does it come automaticly.With our luck things will change before hubbys 60.

The Winter Fuel Payment is automatically given to those who are eligible.
Some people will get paid at different times than others. If you do not get a payment by the end of December call The Pension Service in January.
