can anyone shed any light on whether you have to have a medical examination for incapacity benefit if your getting DLA as well?
Yes you do. All Incapacity Benefit claimants (with a very few exceptions) will be re-assessed as part of the final transition to ESA, and at the moment the criteria for ESA and DLA are different.
Unfortunately that doesn't stop the DWP from using an IB assessment in deciding a DLA claim or vice versa.
