    Assessments and the new rules

I have recently endured an Atos 'medical'. I find/found the whole process both traumatic and disturbing. the experience of having to relive the events that led me to my current state of health both demeaning and upsetting. My question is this: With the introduction of the Condem's desire to force (their word) people on Incapacity/DLA back into work, will I be expected to endure the whole thing all over again in the spring?
And the riches they are allowing me? £50 per week. Not enough for the lavish 'lifestyle' the politicians are telling everyone that we on benefits are enjoying...
I was paranoid before the last election. Now I really feel like a criminal.

"Between October 2010 and Spring 2014 customers who receive Incapacity Benefit, Severe Disablement Allowance and Income Support paid on the grounds of illness or disability will be assessed for Employment and Support Allowance."

    Reassessment information here:

Reassessment should begin in January & be rolled out countrywide beginning in spring 2011,the whole process is expected to be completed by 2014,this should begin area by area, though the sequence of order is not yet available. It is not known when individuals will be reassessed & each person will be informed by letter followed by a phone call from DWP.

This is from a DWP FoI request dated Oct 2010:

"Customers become subject to the reassessment process when they receive a notice from the Department to that effect. It is intended that all customers subject to the process will have a review date allocated between April 2011 and March 2014. For most people the review date will be the same date as originally scheduled for Incapacity Benefit during this period. However, if a backlog arises, it is possible that the review date will be re-scheduled to a later date...."

Suffice to say that those of us who can are actively working to get the decision making and appeals system protecting not attacking disabled people and that includes bringing pressure to bear on government about making the changes to the system fair rather than draconian not least as even their own experts know the current WCA is certainly not fit for purpose and neither is Atos for that matter.
