    Work to do at home??

Hi there, I am a disabled woman in my 60s. I am unable to return to work full time and would like to find out if there are any small jobs from home schemes I can try? The thing is, at my age now and with a long lifetime of being alone, I am finding that I am getting almost depressed having nothing to do. I would love to have something to do at home, to send off and make money from, even if it's not a lot.

I remember years ago people used to be paid to put books together, to add little bits to greeting cards, to assemble small things, etc. Is there anything at all like this anymore?

    Thank you

I would beware of ALL home work and NEVER put money up front. I think the advert above is American and shouldn't actually be advertising on here.

Not much, I admit, but have you thought of joining online polling companies?

Things have changed a lot now. You’ll see a lot of online jobs that promise big money, but most of these jobs are scams. If it’s your time that you are looking to occupy, then I would suggest you look for options that interest you. Is there anything that you like doing such as cooking or pottery? It’s always nicer if you have a hobby that can be converted into a business.

If not, then look for some interesting jobs like virtual assistance or freelance writing/editing projects. Check out some vocational training courses offered at Career Step. The school provides training for some popular work from home careers. That may give you more work from home ideas!

Yes, you have to be very careful of these things. There are some genuine things out there, but whatever you do will affect most benefits. I think that voluntary work can often be rewarding.

    Hi MissJune
Why not try to post your business on the internet. You can share your hobbies by sharing tutorial and also accept work like what you did before. I'm sure there are many interested to learn your hobbies. Goodluck!!

If you just want to stave off depression, I would certainly say that the voluntary service always needs people.

The link below will show you a list of opportunities in your area (just search with your postcode)
