    How much DLA am i due

    Won appeal for DLA and had it backdated to 10th of September 09, arrears payable to 30th of November this year.
    Was awarded low rate personnal care and mobility;
    How much is payed for low rate care and mobility and there was a increase in April this year if i not wrong.
    Can anyone please tell me what the arrears amount should be, any advice would be great.

    April 2009/10 low rate care £18.65 low rate mobility £18.65

    April 2010/11 low rate care £18.95 low rate mobility £18.95

    So yes there was a small increase from April 2010

    The letter advising you of the backpayment which you should receive in the next week or so will give details of exactly how they have reached the total and confirm the rate that will apply going forward to next April as above.

    Hope that helps.

    Well spotted Dee and it is also worth bearing in mind that even lower rate care can make a difference to HB/CTB as it means any non dependent adult deductions do not apply to those in receipt of any level of DLA care.

    So it is important to make sure to let the HB people know about the change as this time it would be in your favour if it applies, but they need to have an update anyway as this is a change of circumstances albeit it probably wont change the benefit you get unless the non dependent rules affact you.

    I've just had a similar situation with a friend of mine. They never recieved any letter showing the break down of payments. They just received a letter with the total amount.

    When the DWP were asked, they confirmed no such letter had been sent or will be sent unless requested.

    Which I found rather strange ?

    I think it probably depends on which benefit is involved with some giving more detail than others but they may well have changed the way they do it now as applies to so much of DWP practice which seems to change more often than the wind. LOL

    Good example being that statements of reasons are no longer sent as a seperate document for DLA decisoons but now included in the original decision norice, but the system still has provision for asking for the statement as the rules on time limits extend the time by 14 days if one asks for the statement one effectively already has.

    Nonsense I know, but since when has anything the DWP do made that much sense. LOL
