    blogging about disability.

hello I was just wondering if anybody has written a blog about their experiences with living with disability. I would be interested to read them if anybody has. I have done one myself and I would appreciate it if you could have a read of it and if you have any advice for me I would also appreciate that. Thank you. http://emilylemony1987.blogspot.com

Well I am not that good at computers so if you type that into the address bar it should come up with my blog hopefully.

    Thank you

    Emily.

Hi Emily, I only have had time to read your first post so far, but I will catch up with the other posts asap. You've certainly had a really rough time!

I started a disability related blog a short while ago, which is here

Hi Emily, Your Blog is very good, You have certainly been through the mill and I admire your courage.

I was feeling very sorry for myself this morning, I have Fybromyalgia ( sorry wrong spelling) and two benign brain tumours but just get complex partial seizures, I do not want surgery as I am coping, and don't want to make things worse, especially depression and anxiety and memory problems which I already have.

Anyway I went for a walk yesterday ( telling myself a walk would do me good ) but during the walk and when I got back I ached all over I was in tears, even my arms hand and fingers hurt ( god knows why they hurt) I even had to give my husband the cardigan I was carrying because it was too heavy I got up this morning and still hurt all over, I sat in the chair and thought WHY ME I just want to be normal..

However your Blog has made me realise I am in fact quite lucky and there are a lot of people a lot worse off than me. Keep the blog going I think a lot of people should read your story and realise in these difficult times just how much worse things could be. xxx

Perhaps these Forums needs a new section, where people can post about themselves, share, offer support & encouragement, let others know they are not alone.

Remember there is always someone else worst off than you s thank your blessings.

When I first had major neuro-surgery back in 1977 I had major surgery on my neck C1/C2. If it had gone wrong I would have been paralysed from the neck down. An inspirational man was also in my small 4 bed ward. He had broken his neck and WAS paralysed from the neck down yet he had a sense of humour and never felt sorry for himself. How could I feel sorry for myself when this guy would be dependent 24/7 on other people to live. It's what you call a reality check - I had no problems at all in comparison to him.

I recently completely lost the use of one leg due to nerve inflamation. I had to stay in hospital for for nights as I couldn't go home as I live on my own. I'd also booked a holiday abroad and was due to go away three days after I got let out. I hadn't been cured but I was on 4000gms of pain killers a day - I still am but I still have pain - it's part of me. But I still managed to get abroad with my girlfriend and hired aids abroad.

Remember - you are who you are - accept it. Don't apologise just get on with it.

Great idea to have a new section, where people can post about themselves, share good and not so good news and offer support to others.

Yep I agree, an "introduce yourself" section on here would be brilliant
