    Any Suggestions for Socks ?

    Hello

Am Hoping Some-one can suggest something for our sons feet.
basically he does not walk, but is a fab crawler, for some reason his toe nails have started coming off.

We have tried totes toasties and thick socks, which he keeps taking off!!!!
cant keep shoes on when he is crawling as they would give him pressure marks.

husband has checked floors etc, and we dont know if he is catching toes on carpet gripper hubby has fitted it closer to floor.
he does not have infection or fungus infection, had him checked by gp. who does not know why they keep coming off.

Have been looking for thick socks or similar which he cant remove any suggestions ,would be grateful.

    Many Thanks

I know he is a boy but would childrens tights work as he would be unable to remove them easily. Just a suggestion.

    Thanks Beau,
we have thought of that been looking at woolen tights, i suppose if he just wears them in the house when he crawling about, another one came off tonight, so we are desperation stage now. if we try and persuade him to keep socks on he just laughs and takes them off!!!
    thanks for your suggestion

How about using micropore around the top of his socks to keep them on ?

Sorry to ask but it is a case that he is unable to walk due to a disability or just a baby crawling ? If its the latter I am sure he will grow out of it very quickly. Sorry if I have caused offence, don't mean to

How old is he please, as this has a bearing on size and practicality of any suggestions.

    Hello
no problem andypandy no offence caused, maybe i should have explained more.
He is 21 years old, and has cerebral palsy, so can not walk ,but as i said is a fab crawler .
obviously that is his means of independance, doctors advice was stop him crawling !!!!!, silly man i thought.!
his feet are tiny only a size 5 but not a baby 5 if you know what i mean.
    Thanks for the replys.
he would just pull everything off like micropore.he makes it his mission in life to be awkward (love that side of him though great personality).

He sounds like a brilliant character !

How about painting nail strengthener on his toes, would he let you do that I wonder ?

Will he wear shoes or slippers all the time and then you could fasten them on with cable ties ha ha.

My cousin has CP but unfortunately is like a new born baby and can do nothing for himself, so I am sure you know you have to laugh at what you can. We all say he is a lazy little git and hasn't done a days work in his life !!! The poor lad can't even sit up, but you have to laugh !

    All the best

Tights may do the trick and under trousers or jeans no one would know they were tights. To remove them he would have to remove his trousers first.

Thanks to you both Beau and Andypandy.
going to go down the tights route i think, he will think i have lost it !!! will try the nail strengthener as well thats a good idea.

your right you have to have a positive outlook and have a laugh, had many of them over the years,he wont wear slippers and i dont let him wear shoes when he crawling as they give him pressure marks.

He will not defeat me this time i am on the case!!!! Thanks All
