Swap disability road tax to another car

Hi all... I've had to get another car after my old one was on it's last legs.. How do I swap my Disability road tax over.. the DVLA seems to be making it impossible to do it online.

    Cheers
    Tommo

    You can't do it online.

You have to go to the Post Office.

It is a real PITA and stupidly difficult.

You will need to contact the DWP and request a 'proof of entitlement' for your PIP.

You then take that to the Post Office with your V5(C).

It can take up to two weeks to get the letter, so if you want to drive the car before you get it, you have to pay to tax it. I've had to do this three times in the last few years and it's a bloody nuisance.

Apparently, you can claim the money back, but I never bothered.
