Thread: PIP Mandatory Reconsideration

  1. #11
My partner is recovering from anorexia and did quite well on PIP. Id imagine you to be an obvious case for enhanced daily living. The eating disorder alone should at the minimum ensure prompting descriptor for taking nutrition. Id also argue your case for making budgeting decisions if the disorder would cause you to not buy food. You need someone to come with you when you get paid to ensure you buy food. The aspergers should at the minimum ensure social support for engaging with others.

On the mobility, id also consider whether your eating disorder could qualify you on the moving around descriptor. Many problems can be caused by malnutrition such as weak painful bones and joints or getting out of breath easily. If any of these could mean your unable to do 200m without getting pains or breathlessness etc then it'd award 4 points. Add that to the 8 points your hopeful of on following unfamiliar journeys and you'd have enhanced mobility.

Not sure if they will accept mandatory reconsideration over the phone but even if they did, its better to write to them. Writing allows you to prepare your argument and supporting evidence. You can carefully think through how your husband meets the descriptors.
