Question Cost of buying your Motability WAV

I have a Renault Kangoo expression 1.6 petrol automatic. First registered in April 2008 on Motability contact hire. It had around 10000 pounds worth of additional conversions/adaptions done.

I know I still have a year to go, however I'm already grappling with whether to buy this vehicle or go for a brand new contract. I'm hoping my main source of information about this decision will be my visit to the mobility show.

However, can anybody give me an extremely rough estimate of how much Motability would charge next April for me to buy my current vehicle?

(Currently I'm leaning towards a new vehicle. Yes buying my current one would be probably be cheaper even after factoring in running costs, but my mobility is important to me and the reliability of a new car is currently more attractive).

    Thanks

Yeah I'm interested in this too. Would something like the What Car? Depreciation Calculator be used to calculate a rough estimate?

Price will be completely dependent on market at the time, age of vehicle, who did the conversion, mileage, colour and a million other things!

In short, you're best just waiting to see what Motability price it as. Realistically it may be more than you could pick a similar one up second hand for, but then you're not going to know the history of the vehicle as well as you do your own!

What Car and most depreciation guidelines won't work on something as specific and specialist as a WAV unfortunately so it'll be a case of having to wait and see.

    Hope this helps!

Can i add my twist on your delemia.. the extra equipment on your vehicle is 4 years old and will be 5 by the time your contract has finished. it could become unreliable and if you buy the vehicle, that expensive for maintance will fall on your shoulders. The joy of a vehicle on the Motability contact is all you do is put fuel in it. For me piece of mind and reliability as to be a priority for Wheelchair drivers or passangers.
