    Yourable website getting a facelift

Well I shouldn't say about time but about time!

I don't remember any consultation exercise with the 'user group' i.e. us!

As this is a disability forum perhaps you could add extra features to aid visually impaired members or a choice of pale pastel shade background colours to aid people who are dyslexic.

Now is the time to ensure that the website is accessible using different digital devices through using a 'responsive' web page template.

    We wait with baited breath!

Does anyone else have any ideas as to what else we need.

Well all forums run on an underlying programme so are limited to what that programme is capable of.

There are only a few of these basic 'platforms' although there are variants that are customised a bit to give particilar features.

If you do a few fora you will notice that they tend to look the same, because the underlying software is the same.

Vbulletin (used here) is very popular, xenforo looks different but was developed by ex-vb programmers so underneath is similar.
    IPboard is another popular one.

In the end your forum has to look and feel similar to use as all the rest, people like what they are used to.

There again the underlying softwares do allow for a lot of customisation by the Admin, if you have the experience to do it.
I don't know everything. - But I'm good at searching for, and finding, stuff.

A server that runs on electricity as opposed to 'hamster in a wheel' power.

I use many forums and the server and database speed on here is appalling.

I don't visit as often as I used to because of it - maybe they'll entice me back with an upgrade?

    A very exciting upgrade.
