Any Info on this Ford Car

I will be ordering a new Motability car very soon and due to my Geographical Position I can only get a Ford. So I was wondering if any member has any information (good or bad) about the following Car.

Ford Grand C-MAX 1.0T Ecoboost Tiotamium with Navigation AP £445.00 This AP I can just about afford.

I require the boot space for my Travel Mobility Scooter.

It has to be a Ford as this is the only Dealer that is within a reasonable distance to me, the next nearest dealer is over 120 miles away and just too far for me.

Hi Kodiak, several years back the 1.0T had notorious overheating issues (all because of a sub standard hose) all new cars come with the upgraded hose pipe so you've no worries on that score.

Fords drive extremely well in comparison to similar MPV'S so don't be surprised if you end up liking the Grand C-Max in spite of you having little choice.

I used a Mini Cab Grand C-Max Powershift, I was very impressed with comfort and the Powershift gearbox.

I'm a bit vague but I seem to remember someone on here saying Motability organised alternative servicing for someone in similar circumstances ?

Let us know how you go.

Yes Motabilty do do that, I have been getting my Renault serviced at the ford dealer near me. The problem that has arisen is this. On Friday past I was out and about and I was about 45 Miles away from home and Warning Red signs all over the Dash Board, "STOP ENGINE FAILURE DANGER STOP"

So I stpped and called out the RAC. To cut a long story short the car had to be taken back to the Renault Dealer. I got my son out to get us back home. Now my car is in the Renault Dealer and when it gets fixed someone has to go down to them, 130 miles away, and pick up the car.

This is the 2nd time something like this has happened to me so I want to get a car that has a nearby Dealer and that is Ford. I am going to the Dealership tomorrw afternoon. They are coming around to pick me up and will take me home again afterwards. Mind you they are only 600 yards away from me so they are really handy.

Thanks for your Input as it is much appreciated.

    UPDATE

I phoned the Renault Dealer since they have had the Car for four working days and they have not been in contact with me at all. They say that they have NOT looked at the car as of yet but hope to by Friday. Last time they had my car in they took well over 3 weeks to supply and fit a new Windscreen Wiper Motor. This is another reason why I do not want another Renault.

Hi Kodiak. Shouldn't you be offered a replacement car for the time your renault is at the dealer? I would speak with motability about this...

I've had a Mark 1 Ford Escort and a Ford Focus in the past - the focus was a great car and easy to drive.

    I recently looked at the
    - C-Max Grand
    - S-Max Grand and the
    - Galaxy

I actually visited a Motability Conversion dealer who had a Ford C-Max Grand in with a hoist already installed. They attached to my hybrid electric wheelchair and tried to install it. Everything but the handles went in. I can't fold my backrest down without a lot of hassle. The height of the back of my wheelchair is 33 inches.

The S-Match is a stream lined version of the Galaxy with a raked hatchback.

The Galaxy has a square shaped rear hatch and has plenty of height to accommodate hoists. The automatic is easy to drive but it is two foot longer and 6 inches wider than my Renault Scenic.

The build time for a galaxy is between 12 and 16 weeks. I hope to take delivery of my Motability Lease hire Ford in 9 weeks - fingers crossed.

    C-Max hatch . . .

Incidentally, I don't think you need to get your car serviced at the garage you hired or bought it from.

    New Car Ordered

    UPDATE

I visited Ford Dealer this afternoon and after a very interesting and Informed Conversation I have now Ordered the following car.

Ford Grand C-Max Titanium with Navigation 1.0T Ecoboost 125PS Metallic Blue.

I arrived home and 10 minutes later I received a Phone Call from the Dealer informing me that Motability had Approved the Order and the car was Ordered. Not only that but the exact same car I wanted was being built and was coming off the production line within the next hour. This means I should get my car in about 3 weeks time. Lucky or What.

Yes LIGHT I have been getting the Scenic serviced at another Dealer other than the one I got it from. In my case I had to as they were taken over by Arnold Clark. The reason why my Scenic had to go back down to Arnold Clark was that it requires a Renalt Dealer to repair it and they were the closest one to me.

Yes I know I can get a Hire Car from Motability but this actulaay costs me money. EuropCar will deliver it to me and also take it back. The problem is that I have to pay for the fule they use to deliver as well as return Juorney. The last time I had to do thid it cost me £48 for two days, so I am not too keen to do this again.

So this time I can use Taxi's if I need to go anywhere and Motability pay for the Taxi. For me this works out better than having a Hire Car.

    UPDATE

I have been informed by my Dealer that my new car has been delayed. It is still marked down by Ford that the delivery date to Dealer is 18th August but has been Delayed. HUMPH. So all I can do now is wait and see what happens. The Dealer is now suggesting that even if it arrives that I sould wait until the 1 September so as to get a 68 Plate.

On Friday past I picked up my new Motability Car from my Local Ford Dealer. It is a Ford Grand C-Max Titanium. I am very pleased with it as it really is a Quality Car. It has everything in the way of Technology that I require and it has plenty of space as well, also my Scooter fits in the back with ease. I love the touch screen and the voice control. This means I can phone while driving via voice control and I do not need to remove my hands from the steering wheel. The weather has been pretty bad here and this is the first day I have been able to take a photograph, so here she is and her name is......Lady Sapphire.
