what happens if your due a review before the 2 years ?
my pip is due to be review again in jan 2019 a year before my pip ends

I do suffer mental health problems and used to get top rate dla
but now only get low care rate of £57.30 a week

It's usual to start the PIP review a year before your current award ends.

This is so there is plenty of time to get it done before your current one runs out.
For example, if you have to go to a tribunal that could take months.

You will be sent a form to fill in and send back to them.
You may then have to have an assessment, either at your home or at their assessment centre.
They will then make a decision about what rate of PIP you qualify for.
If you don't agree with the decision you can ask for a reconsideration and then if needed an appeal.

It can all take time which is why they start early.
I don't know everything. - But I'm good at searching for, and finding, stuff.

Has anyone had a letter from dwp yet on the backdated money from the mobility law changes.

I know its going to take 2 years but just wanted to know if anyone has had there money backdated yet.

looks like that the dwp has done its best
not to payback money which should be paid out to its customers
can you appeal if they don't pay the pip mobility back payments under the mental health law?

because its one year before my pip ends and was told I will not get the pip review forms till this july
have the person on the dwp phoneline made a mistake
because me thinks I would get the form one year before my pip ends

    Hi Hansol77
I'm in a similar position, I am due a review a year before my reward ends (jan 2020), so this Jan 19, but I havent had a review form.
I also am wondering if I will be reviewed with the MH review as I think I should of got more points than 4 for prompting. I'm surprised there aren't more comments on forums about this, there meant to of reviewed over 100,000 people already (that was dec just gone).
I dont know how both the reviews work together, its really confusing. I wish they would write and tell me yes or no if they are reviewing me and a rough estimate of a date when it will be done by.

When you get the notice depends on the length of your PIP award.

Longer awards (2 years +) get reassessed one year before the end date.

Shorter awards (1 year or less) get notified to make a new claim shortly before the current award ends.

I'm not sure what happens if your award is between 1 and 2 years, probably a mix of the two.

My award was 3 years until 2020, and it said it would be reviewed sometime after Jan 2019, 1 year before the end. I'll give it another couple of months and if I havent heard I'll call them. I'm in no rush to be reviewed, but I want to make sure there is enough time.

I believe from other threads that some places are short of PIP Decision Makers at the moment and are backlogged.

Maybe that has something to do with it?
