Citizens Advice to become a DWP contractor.

Well that's not quite how the government 'spin' it, they say it will be a 'partnership'.
    https://www.gov.uk/government/news/c...edit-claimants

CAB will be providing 'Universal Support' for those who need help making, and managing, Universal Credit claims, and getting funded (paid) millions to do it.

    It all raises big questions.
For instance if you have been getting Universal Support through CAB, but still get sanctioned or your claim closed, then where are you going to turn for advice?
Would you realy trust CAB to help you anymore?

Something like this has been expected for a while now.
CAB funding has been being cut for a number of years.
Now it's being increased again - but it is only to be used for what the Gov/DWP want it to be used for.

Oh, and of course when something goes wrong and there is an outcry it will be a case of "It's not our fault, it's the contractors fault".
(Remember how Atos got blamed for the DWPs errors with WCAs).
I don't know everything. - But I'm good at searching for, and finding, stuff.

Statement about this from Citizens Advice:

This funding agreement does not stop us from raising problems with Universal Credit publically and it does not compromise the impartiality or confidentiality of the advice and support we give to people?—?these are red lines we never cross, including when it comes to funding.
    Time will tell.

I use to help out at the CAB, the issue will be one of Trust and I doubt I would trust someone who works for the Government . this was expected years ago. charities like the Shaw trust who ended up doing the work of the government . I do not go near them if I can help it.

Ah well another group falls into the trap Money makes the world go around

Mmmm... You do know who hosts this forum? (They never interfere with the content though).

Hint, it's written in the blurb at the bottom of each page.
