    Hi Lucy14,

These are spam posts that have now been removed. Thanks for reporting.

    Thank you and you're welcome.
Was a bit worrying as I have never seen anything like it before. x

It happens to every forum now and again.

If a spambot (it's a programme doing it not a person) manages to find a way in it will create numerous usernames and make multiple posts within minutes of each other, often all similar like that 'casino' one was.

They can be difficult to stop altogether, because of course they use random false names, random false emails, and even random false IP addresses. (There are some clever programmers who turn to putting this rubbish out).

If you could see what happens in the background during one of these attacks it is usually only 1 attempt in 20 or 30 attempt that actually succeeds in registering.
(But that doesn't matter to the programme that's doing it, programmes don't get fed up).

They can be stopped, or at least the spam posts quickly removed, but unfortunately this forum only uses 'staff' moderators, who only work office hours.

So a bot attack like last weekends can make hundreds (sometimes even thosands) of posts before someone gets into work on Monday morning to remove them (and block the bot).

Thanks for explaining that, as I said I have never seen it before.
I feel sorry for whoever had to clean it up this morning..
    Keep up the good work.x
