    How do you treat someone in a wheelchair?

    What kind of a dumb question is that?????? You treat them to a latte and a bar of chocolate please.

    like you would anyone else, also address questions to Them not their attendant, try getting yourself at their level so you are not speaking down to them.

    In answer to your question. You treat them the way you'd like to be treated.

    I'm always being asked if I need assistance from strangers when I'm putting my wheelchair in the car. Invariably offered help arrives from the most unlikely characters For instance, a homeless person, an executive, young women, cyclists, building worker to a Hells Angel.

    People think how's he going to manage that with one arm and naturally just ask if you need help if you're travelling alone.

    I always end up chatting with the helper. Afterwards the job is done and I've made their day helping someone less fortunate than themselves. It's a win, win situation!

    Like someone not in a wheelchair.Talk to them and not just to the wheelchair pusher.Give help where help is needed .
