    Stairlifts & landlords insurance

    Hi all, I’m in a private rented house & my landlord has agreed for me to have a stairlift fitted. Will my Landlords Insurance be affected by the installation of the stairlift? Thanks

    It shouldn't be, but the LL will have to check their policy to make sure.

    Normally a LL will have buildings insurance to cover the structure, and you are responsible for insuring your contents.
    A stairlift is not structural and so will count as contents.
