DS1500 six month limit ruled illegal.

The 'Expected to die within six months' limit on automatically qualifying for benefits due to terminal illness has been ruled by a judge in Northern Ireland as discriminatory under Human Rights law, and therefore illegal:

Whilst I don't think that NI ruling is binding for the rest of the UK it's surely only a matter of time before it's elevated to the Supreme Court, or similar cases are brought on the mainland.

Unless of course the Government/DWP cave in and scrap the six month limit before getting taken to court yet again for shabby treatment of 'the vulnerable'.
(No doubt trumpeting about how caring they are being to 'the vulnerable' and ignoring the fact that what they have been doing is illegal).

    Flipping heck Nuke,

Reading from the new posts at the side of the forum it reads:

    Expected to die within six

    I thought that was you!

    LOL, I'm feeling fine.

I've changed the post title, but don't have permission here to change the thread title or delete it and post with a different title.

I can lock the thread so that no one else can post and bump it in the new-posts sidebar.

It will drop off both sidebars as new posts and threads are made.
