    strange payment

i got my pip back pay about a week ago and im supposed to start being paid per month in a couple of weeks. but my partner who is claiming jsa just got a payment in the bank for a lot of money. it had her NI number and DWP next to payment. does anyone know what this is as i would like to know what might be going on before we contact the DWP

Got letter today explaining what it is. im just use to getting letters weeks ahead saying you might get this or that.

Could you explain to others what it was?

Backpayment of the SDP now that your PIP has been confirmed perhaps?

    ok here you go
extra money because your partner is disabled
extra money because of the disability income guarantee

i tried to look into the second one online but all i found was it had been stopped or something like that

'The disability income guarantee' is what the DWP call the EDP (Enhanced Disability Premium) on letters.
(They like to try and confuse things).

You will get more results online searching for either EDP or 'Enhanced Disability Premium'.
But to start you off - https://www.gov.uk/disability-premiums/what-youll-get

EDP and SDP can be paid with income related benefits, and can be backdated in the right circumstances.

They have not been 'stopped' for existing IR JSA or IR ESA claims, but can not be added to 'New Style' JSA/ESA claims which are Contribution based only.
