Then under the DDA he should not take on your booking it's as simple as that, if he knows your disabled and he takes the booking then he is open to a dam compensation case under the DDA.

The whole of the EU is covered under the EU laws on disability, and saying he cannot guarantee is wrong.
Interesting quote Treborc, out of interest I have been searching DDA websites but failed to find anything.Do you have a link to this information.

    Many thanks.

[QUOTE=Las Piedras;3360]In defence of Enable Holidays and other specialist tour operators (we don´t work with enable btw), they cannot hope to compete with the big tour operators price-wise as the large tour opetors are able to negotiate MUCH LOWER hotel rates, it´s a numbers thing.[/QUOTE

I understand what you are saying LP however,I do think that the difference between the two Disabled Companies too great, just plain greedy.

    Hi
We have got the hoilday trips down to a fine art now, we always travel with our son who is now 21 and totally confined to a wheelchair.
what we do is book flights seperate and work out where we are going , I then do a internet search for hotels apartments etc, that cater for the disabled traveller.
I contact them and book direct with them, i search again for airport pick ups etc, and thank fully it has been fine it might be easier for us because both my husband and myself can assist with our son at airports and the resorts.
we are off on our hols in a fortnight to turkey and have found a lovely set of apartments in icmeler.
also have found columbus insurance to be great, after telling them about my sons cerebral palsy plus epilepsy also my husband insulin dependant got a quote for 37.00 for the week thats including me,

it was a bit daunting at first but do not book through travel agents now , i enjoy looking for good deals, hope you get yours sorted.

Hi Finningley,Yes I have also considered going down this route, but always felt wary about something going wrong. I also use Columbus insurance, they were the most competitive in february at £135 for 2 weeks for my wife and self.My wife had a triple vascular bypass operation 18months ago followed by a lower leg amputation, some companies have refused to insure because of this condition.
We love turkey,Icmeler is a lovely resort, great market there. Our first holiday after my wife's op.was in Lara Beach last September,we went to the Concord Resort Hotel, fantastic hotel and great for wheelchair users, however it is a chill out hotel you cannot get out and about like in Icmelor.
    Have a great holiday.

    Hi
It can be a bit daunting at first, we have had the odd thing go wrong .but they have always done there best to fix things looking forward to our hols now two weeks today we will be on the plane,

Give it a go DIY and it will be fine if you are like me i will be assertive and say what we want for our son, and what we expect, obviously we do not expect in some countries things to be the same as here but thats the experience.
Hope you get sorted and enjoy your holidays.

ps. we live 3 minutes from doncaster airport but the prices they charge are so expensive so we tend to go from birmingham leeds bradford etc and save hundreds of pounds.

Thank you for your input Sally,as mentioned earlier my next holiday is now finalised with Thomson's Travel Shop who were much more efficient than my local Thomson travel agent.
I am now beginning to understand how non specialist travel agents work. I have recently been informed that Thomas Cook now regard themselves as Disabled specialists with experienced staff in 83 of their branches, I will give them a chance to give me quote alongside Enable for my next holiday around November.
I am well prepared to pay a premium with a Specialist Company as long as it is not ridiculously inflated.

If I'm not breaking any rules can i ask who your Company is Sally?

Cheers sally, yes the room was requested and then confirmed next day.Have had a good browse around your website,I like it and it's now bookmarked.

I noticed that certain destinations listed no hotels, just phone in details, are these likely to be updated with hotel names at a later date.

We went to the Concord Resort in Lara Beach last September with Enable,a great holiday and fantastic hotel.
