Daily Mirror pro disabled item. Shame it's left wing motivated politics underlying their editorials .... but it's nice to read something other than "scrounger" items

    Interesting article !!!

I don't quite understand your added comment of
"Shame it's left wing motivated politics underlying their editorials"
The Daily Mirror is, and always has been a "Socialist" Newspaper, (although I must say not as Socialist as it used to be) so you are stating the obvious.

Now, I would have been surprised if it had been in The Sun, (AKA The Scum), as this is a well known "Capitalist" Newspaper, where its articles are driven by "right wing motivated politics underlying their editorials".

After all, it was Socialism that gave birth to The Welfare State. Most members on here are fighting to keep their entitlement to benefits under the umbrella of The Welfare State.

Therefore, your additional comments regarding "Left Wing", are a bit off skew, totally unnecessary, and rather disappointing.

The main issue should be, is the article factual, or is it simply fabricated, as much of the "Right Wing" propaganda that we see continually in The Scum, The Daily Muck, and The Daily Express, is ?

Then you think back to the Daily Mirror backing New Labour welfare reforms and telling people we cannot have benefits cheat people who say they are disabled but are not.

Then you had the mirror backing Blair Brown and now MIliband, each time backing for ATOS and the DWP, so this is then a blip.

After all Miliband is backing PIP's, he is refusing to say anything about the bed room tax and has stated proudly if he gets back in he will cut and cut deep on welfare.

The problem is the Daily Mirror has always been seen as a socialist Labour party backing News paper, but these days it has no real backing for anyone because Labour and the Tories as so the same.

After the war, which highlighted that so many people were deprived and poor, the Liberal politician William Beveridge identified five issues that needed to be tackled to make a better Britain. To achieve his aims, Beveridge proposed the introduction of a welfare state.
The proposal for a welfare state - the basics

In 1942, the Liberal politician William Beveridge, who the government set the task of discovering what kind of Britain people wanted to see after the war, declared that there were five "giants on the road to reconstruction":

    poverty
    disease
    ignorance
    squalor
    idleness

To defeat these giants, he proposed setting up a welfare state with social security, a national health service, free education, council housing and full employment.

In the years after the war, the Labour government tried to make this vision come true.

Labour had to have a battle with it's own politicians and it's own party as to get this taken seriously as many believed it was to expensive. And would lead to many people being idle and scrounging the same words are being used now, so really not sure if what we have now can be said to be a labour party

    Read my post properly,
"The Daily Mirror is, and always has been a "Socialist" Newspaper, (although I must say not as Socialist as it used to be)"
    I am talking historically.

We all know that Tony Bliar and his cohorts were "Tory Lite" that is why The Scum backed him as well.

My comments are supported by the the report on the link that I placed in my post.

    http://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/ne...fits-reporting

They are supported further by the recent revelations that all the figures quoted by IDS, Mcvey, and Schapps, regarding ESA, DLA and PIP, were lies, but were propagated by the "Right Wing" press.

I thought my post would grab your attention.

I tend to agree, but what other options do we have, UKIP ?

Vikstar. I find your comments aggressive and unhelpful. If you want to pick an argument with a post then you should really make sure your contesting post doesnt agree with the post you are challenging. I made the point that it was a refreshing change to see a pro disabled benefits post in the media. I then commented that it was a shame it was made in the labour supporting Mirror newspaper ... rather than in one of the tory rags .. which is what I'd prefere to see.

So in future try getting off your high horse and read the posts properly before spouting off

I'm glad that you have taken the opportunity to explain your comment.

I don't look for arguments, and don't ride horses. Therefore, I have nothing further to add.

I enjoy a good old fashioned discussion politics is important to the disabled, after all the mess we are in today is from one Tony Blair and his crew, remember Lord Freud or as we know him fraud , Purnell another of the socialist group.

sadly I've no idea where Miliband stands his statement he would hit welfare hard if he wins is a worry, saying the bed room tax would not be reversed and then saying he was backing PIP's.

For some reason we are now the black sheep of this country and many of those black sheep fought in wars for the Labour party
